Just lately I seem to lose connectivity to some sites while others work fine. For example, I wasz just listening to one o f the streams at www.di.fm and then it suddenly cut out. I can still listen to www.bassdrive.com though. here are the results of some ping tests I just did:

Can anyone else get to these addresses or is it a more localised fault? I'm in the GU51 (Fleet, Hants) area.

no problem loading here

Finding many of those sites you tried very slow to load so I guess it's a problem with congestion on the main trunk routes out of NTL

Are you able to ping the sites that I can't? I just need to check that I'm not being thick here :)

a traceroute to these addresses would given more information as to where the problem may be

OK. I'll have a go. It means I'll have to connect directly to the CM as traceroutes don't seem to go through my wireless base station.

I have to agree that something funky is happening with NTL and patchy internet access. Example: Whilst editing files on my web server in Demon's network I lost FTP connectivity to my box and Pop3 access from Demon's network. During this period I was able to get Demon webmail to work and get web pages from web server (therefore proving that port 80 was working and my server was fine while port 110 and 21 weren't) I was ssh'ed into my web server at the same time and this session did NOT drop.....!????

I've noticed a few times that I lose connectivity like this, mostly in the evenings so I guess it could be a congestion issue and various ports are being strangled as they are not real-time?
