very slow Net access right now..

been trying to get onto Windows update to activate my new install but lots of websites are almost unreachable right now, Update at MS site is 1kbps!!! and places like Nvidia.com and Msn.co.uk are taking upto 5-10 mins to load.

other areas like this site and other UK based sites are all working ok by the looks of it.

is there an Ntl fault?

Have you tried switching proxies?

dont know the ip for any proxies!

can you download anything of the Ms website without the connection dropping? IE the Flight sim 10 demo?.


edit: I cant get through to the registration area on the NTL sigh-up for broadband either.. im thinking there must be a Net fault atm.

Change it in internet options (LAN settings) port number should be 8080

im behind a router do i need to put it in there and not my IE settings?

everything seems to be working better now but i still cant get to windows activation page.

IE settings, in tools, options, Connection, LAN settings. Could be the activation site is down.
