keep losing connection - data light

i have the webstar modem, and basically my data light keep going off whenever i transfer any data. it usually happens even if my laptop is off. i know it isnt a computer problem, because it done it on my last PC and now with my new laptop it is doing the same thing. shall i give telewest a ring? or is there someway to sort this myself? many thanks.

Give Telewest a ring tbh, check connections at the back of the Cable Modem first if you haven't already.

navigate your way to 192.168.100.1/gscan.html
in the bottom box leave the 132 or what ever it is and put 000000 after it then press reset.

leave 1 min

then close the browser and go bk to the url see if its changed if it has u should be orite

but is there anyway i can prevent my modem settings changing in the future?

what causes it in the first place?

No idea i have the same problem, you could ring up and ask them to give you a diffrent one. jus keep you're eye on it from time to time.
