help with motorola SB5101E

hi everyone....
i have recently purchased a new motorola modem, and unfortunatly i am having problems getting the 'online' light to iluminate.
it flashes.......but the power, send, recieve and pc lights are all working normally. can someone help me with what to do?
and if possible give me a download link for the official install cd for this modem? as mine came with the blueyonder one and its rather anoying and might be part of the problem.

You can't just go out and buy a cable modem as it won't work, you have to get it from either Telewest or Ntl depending on who you are with and they will install it for you and register it to your account. Hope you didn't pay much for it.

gah. i was told it was garanteed to work. thx anyway.

The modems MAC address has to be registered with your cable provider, so as SnoopZ says a new one from anyone but them won't work.

When I moved house recently, ntl gave me one of those nice blue ones (had a silver one before).
