I have always thought we were never upgraded to 10 meg from 3 meg all that that time ago, even after CS or TS or whoever maintained that everything was ok at their end.
Does this confirm that I am still on 3 meg ?

Maximum Downstream Data Rate :3072000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 300000

I guess from reading all the posts recently that it won't make a massive difference, but I have been paying for it so I could be due a bit iof a refund ;)

That's that then, was always unsure until now.
The figures are pretty self explanatary once you know where to look, which I never did.
Cheers

Anyway, just for completism I thought I'd post the outcome of my chat with NTL today, after plucking up enough courage to actually phone them again I got straight through to Customer Services. Told them of my predicament and she passed me to Technical, who again answered straught away, told the same story to the TS guy, he stopped the modem and cancelled the info file for it (I think), restarted it, and bingo 10 meg :D

It was the best service I have ever had when dealing with NTL by phone.

1st 512K took 5719 ms = 89.5 KB/sec, approx 737 Kbps, 0.72 Mbps
2nd 512K took 4094 ms = 125.1 KB/sec, approx 1031 Kbps, 1.01 Mbps
3rd 512K took 4640 ms = 110.3 KB/sec, approx 909 Kbps, 0.89 Mbps
4th 512K took 4110 ms = 124.6 KB/sec, approx 1027 Kbps, 1 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 926 Kbps, 0.91 Mbps

Still...... you can't have everything

homealone, these are my config stats now :-
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000
Maximim Upstream Data Rate : 512000

unlimited, sorry, there was more than a hint of sarcasm in my last sentence as I did my first speed test after the config was updated. I have to say it was correct at the time.
Just to show you how badly a torrent can affect the speed here is the latest one

If my son isn't seeding at the moment then it's pretty poor ;)

I did manage to get around 6 Mbps yesterday afternoon which I thought wasn't too bad considering the time of day.

My lad also downloaded a Battlefield 2 mod which came in at roughly 1100-1200 kbps so that side of it seems ok.
