My connection is continually downloading and I do not know what is doing this. I have posted a screen shot of Bandwidth Monitor.
I have contacted NTL twice about this (absolutely useless Indian call centre).
I am running Windows XP64 with the windows firewall, also ran,
NOD 32.
Ad Aware.
Spybot.
Spyware Doctor (full version).
A-Squared Free version.
Super Antispyware Free version.
Microsoft Nasty File Remover.
Removed Cookies cleared Cache but still nothing works.

This problem is causing high pings and lag on online games which makes them near impossible to play.

I'd open Task Manager and see what processes are active. Might give you a clue...

Click Start and run
Type in CMD
then type netstat -b

This will tell you what apps are currently trying to get out...

Mmmm... Did you sort the list by CPU utilisation so that the 99% idle appears at the top? That way, you'll see any other process that's occasionally grabbing a bit of resource. You'll still get 99% idle, but there's always something else going on that's taking that other 1%.

Ouch. Nasty. I'm surprised that none of your security programs found it though. I guess that goes to show that you can never have enough protection against malware... :td:

To be fair even if the call centre was in the same town as you this was nothing to do with ntl and you have contributed to a longer call wait for other people.

Try Ewido to clean your system Eric55 AND do install a software firewall. Unlike the Widows Firewall a free software firewall like Kerio will stop scumware phoning home.
Ewido is currently as good as anything else out there for malware. There is even an online scanner.
Spybot and Adaware seem to have had there day.

My first piece of malware ever and it turns out to be this...

I take it that its within a program a person downloads and installs, correct? The last thing I downloaded was a graphics card driver and find it highly unlikely to be that. The things I had downloaded previously before that was Tor and Hex Workshop.

I'm thinking that Hex Workshop is the culprit... Any ideas?

Again... I've never had horrible, grotty little things like malware and viruses.

PS. Joined this morning. (Early.)
