I got the 1MB broadband service about a month ago now, and browsing, downloading, etc was great at the beginning. But I've been noticing that for the past few days, pages have been taking quite a lot of time to open. Downloading files is fine, but it's just opening pages that is causing me problems sometimes.

I've checked the modem signal levels, and they are:
Cable Modem Downstream
Downstream Lock :Locked
Downstream Channel Id :3
Downstream Frequency :586750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation :QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate :6952 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth :taps12Increment17
Downstream Receive Power Level :-11.4 dBmV
Downstream SNR :32.7 dB

Cable Modem Upstream
Upstream Lock :Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 3
Upstream Frequency : 46384000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QPSK
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 61.0 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2

The event log as well is showing the following:
Thu Aug 17 19:33:09 2006 Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - ...
Thu Aug 17 00:04:24 2006 DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response.
Thu Aug 17 00:04:14 2006 No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out
Thu Aug 17 00:04:06 2006 SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to acquire QAM/Q...
Thu Aug 17 00:01:36 2006 Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Un..

Should I be worried and contact ntl or is all of this normal? I'm in London, and I don't know if there's any maintenance being done, etc

I think your upstream is a bit to high Upstream transmit Power Level : 61.0 dBmV

You probably need to phone Ntl or someone else might be along who knows about this stuff. :)

Thanks :) I might do that, but haven't had problems since I changed some of my firewall options, so maybe that was the problem
