I was hoping to enable ACR (Anonymous Call Rejection) onto my NTL phone line. I tried the code *227# but this code does not work.
So the question is, do NTL offer this service and if so is it a paid or free service?

you have to ring them and have the service enabled and yes it is free and takes aprox 24hrs to set up

Actually dependant on where you live, ACR is already active on the line. Again there are different codes to activate/deactivate the feature....

Try 1478 to reject and 1479 to accept, this works for me.

It has to be enabled first, and only after the request has been passed by NTL's Malicious Calls Bureau at Crawley Court, stupid I know, but that's how they do it. At least, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than BT who charge £3pm for it!

This process is only for SMS customers, a lot of ICMS customers already have it enabled on their line and it's a call to Customer Services for the remainder and also Harmony Customers.

In my region (01954) all i have to do is dial 1478 or 1478# and the caller will be told they are withheld.

To deactivate this feature again it's 1479 or 1479#

I didn't have to phone Ntl to get this all to work.
