hi all...
a quick queery on behalf of a friend..
he has a nokia 6610 on the 3 network, his contract is coming to an end and he'd like to unlock it and use on a different network...simple enough!!

nope. he's trawled the net, asked in numerous mobile shops and so far the furthest he's got is to be told that its not possible to unlock this phone on the 3 network! ive had a quick look for an answer...but seems the sites i've found suggest as above....not possible.

so am just wondering if any of you guys have had a similar problem....or better still...the same problem with a fix :)

Must mean either a 6630, 6680 or a diff. network provider.

sorry guys...its a 6630 :dunce:

in response to paul, he has asked his contract provider...and they've also said it cant YET be done.
he's found plentyof unlock codes for this phone and other networks, why's it so difficult to get an unlock code for the same phone on the 3network???

The 6630 cannot be unlocked by anyone other than the network. Any person or website which claims to be able to is lying.

Nokia havn't yet provided the correct unlocking process to 3, as soon as they do you'll be able to get it unlocked for £15.00.
