Internet/gaming speed just seems so slow

I have the same problem, I think i must of upset them, Speed test this morning comes in at

1st 512K took 3696 ms = 138.5 KB/sec, approx 1141 Kbps, 1.11 Mbps
2nd 512K took 16223 ms = 31.6 KB/sec, approx 260 Kbps, 0.25 Mbps
3rd 512K took 5147 ms = 99.5 KB/sec, approx 820 Kbps, 0.8 Mbps
4th 512K took 6880 ms = 74.4 KB/sec, approx 613 Kbps, 0.6 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 709 Kbps, 0.69 Mbps

Would not beleive it should be a 10 mb connection

Got kicked off counterstrike last night due to latency issues, had problems now for last 3 weeks, thinking of formatting pc, make sure not a fault at my end.

what modems do you have? My Terayon died a few weeks back and ntl replaced it with their own brand 250 modem and my speed are 25% better now @ 12.7 Mbit :D

ntl 200 modem, had for approx 3 years, I think speeds are up and down all time at minute.

4th 512K took 1110 ms = 461.3 KB/sec, approx 3801 Kbps, 3.71 Mbps

No issues here, could you do a few trace routes to common sites (www.bbc.co.uk (http://www.bbc.co.uk) etc) and see where the issues start?

Overall Average Speed = approx 3819 Kbps, 3.73 Mbps

Just changed my router to a linksys wrt54g, had no problems since that.
