I have an ariel in my room coming from my sky dish, am i able to view freeview if i put that sky ariel in the back of my freeview box coz i cant seem to get it to work?

Or is their another way to make freeview work without the analog ariel?

No Freeview isn't Satellite so using a dish won't work. If it doesn't work with an ordinary aeriel then you have to upgrade to a wideband aerial and point it in the direction of the transmitter. Also a signal booster might be needed. Assuming you're in an area that can actually receive freeview of course.

All you need to do then is connect your freeview box to the existing aeriel somehow. Often done using a signal booster with muliple connections on.

I do this by having a signal booster downstairs behind the telly and running a coax up the stairs to the freeview box in the bedroom.

So i don't understand exactly? SO i plug my box downstairs? then i go to Dixons and ask for a signal booster which will allow me to watch it upstairs? im so confused? sorry .... :S

The aeriel that comes in downstairs is connected into the booster downstairs and then the box downstairs is plugged into the booster and also the box upstairs plugged into the booster, thus allowing both boxes to use the 1 aeriel.

Basically the booster is splitting the aeriel signal between 2 televisions.

As you already have a dish, you could get a Sky receiver from eBay and then pay Sky a one-off £20 for a viewing card if you want Channel 4 and five. Most other channels, incl. those from BBC and ITV, are totally free.

Note that the channel line up is not the same as Freeview. e.g. no E4 or More4. See http://www.wickonline.com/fta.htm for more details on channels available.
