Hi All

tried googling etc but i can't find what i'm after.... it may sound strange but i'm looking for an mp3 or wav file containing road / traffic noise.

The ideal sounds would be like numbers 2 and 3 at the following site

http://www.audiosparx.com/sa/display/sounds.cfm/sound_group_iid.2586

but i don't want to have to pay... obviously:erm:

The reason is that me and mrs Tightscot now have a mini baby tightscot, only 6 days old and absolutely gorgeous!:D but she hates sleeping at night, however noisy traffic does the trick and sends her off to sleep.

I think that strolling up the road at midnight in just my pants may start to get me a reputation:disturbd: and maybe making a CD would be a better idea?

Failing that if anyone has any other suggestions then the whole Tightscot clan would love to hear them... the main problem is that at night, after a feed, she won't settle down in her moses basket, even after she's fallen to sleep in our arms. As soon as we lay her down she wakes up and we have to repeat the whole process! Trieed allsorts, like warming the basket with a bottle etc etc...

Sorry for the ramble, sleep deprivation does funny things to you!

Thanks in advance...

if you're not already, wrap her tight, arms folded over her chest, in a blanket or 2. babies like the security felt in the womb, that is what helps them settle a lot. also, laying a small cushion against their side helps too.

My daughter also used to like soft classical music played quietly.

How about this? Not heavy traffic, but may be worth ago.

Strictly speaking it's not really free - though I doubt even the BPI will break down your front door for possessing it ;)

There's a greenie to anyone who can identify the classic house record from 1992 whose intro this is from :)

For personal use, I'd just rip the preview - not that difficult to pull it directly into WMP (anti-rightclick scripts are easy to bust).

Alternatively, if you want some genuine originals, I'll take my MP3 recorder and stand beside the M25
