Does anyone know why I get †œThe page cannot be displayedâ₠¬Â when I try to open the website http://www.beeb.net/ when connected via NTL but can access it fine when using a different ISP? This has only happened the last couple of days.

NTL.... Never Too Logical
NTL....Next Time Leedsman;) LOL
Try specifying proxies to work around it if it's still playing up.

I took a call on this earlier. However I dont think this is an NTL problem. I cannot access this internally from work (which is not NTL DNS) nor could I ping the site using all-nettools. When doing a trace it would stop before reaching the target host. Now this could be it isnt set to respond to ICMP requests, but considering I couldnt access it from work I would have assumed this is an non ntl problem. Anybody without an NTL connection please? Also anyone who can access the site, please ping it and let me know

Site loads fine here on a Non NTL Connection.

However I am guessing it doesnt respond ICMP Requests.

C:\DOCUME~1\ATHLON~1>ping www.beeb.net

Pinging www.beeb.net [212.58.235.172] with 32 bytes of data:

I've just tried non NTL DNS servers and now can get on the site. So it's an NTL issue.

Using Pipex's DNS and no proxy (ie NTL assigned) = Cannot Display
Using Pipex's DNS and Other NTL proxy = Cant Display
Using Pipex's DNS and a Free Proxy = Page loads fast

im getting the same problem accessing another website/forum. Sometimes I can access it, but i can only navigate accross a couple of pages, then i get the dreaded 'page cannot be displayed' message. I have tried pingin the site, but it returned saying page unavailable, i have tried flashing the dns, but still no help. Other people i know can access the site quite freely (if not on NTL that is).

any ideas how to fix this, without waiting for NTL to update their DNS servers?
