OK, so you've browsed to http://root:root@192.168.100.1 (http://root:root@192.168.100.1/) and gotten your signal levels...
This doesn't work for me - I get a 'this page cannot be displayed' error. Anyone know why this might be happening?

Some modems need to be rebooted before you can access them, try power cycling the modem, also check you are not specifying a proxy in your Internet Explorer / Browser settings.
What SACM is it you have?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Rebooting the modem makes no difference
Using the link http://192.168.100.1/ (http://192.168.100.1/) also makes no difference - I still get 'this page cannot be displayed' instead of a login prompt.
No proxy specified.
The modem is a Terayon TJ210

Do you have any firewall or router in the setup?

I'm not sure if the Terayon TJ210 is able to access that web address. If i'm wrong someone please correct me.

[Edit]

You can't access that modem through that web address, i've just googled it.

19. I was wondering whether my recently acquired Terayon TJ 210 had a config screen I could access through my browser?

There is no web interface for the configuration of this modem.

Ah, thanks. That would explain it :)

Might be worth one of the moderators updating the sticky thread with a list of modems that are/aren't supported.

I used to be able to use "docsdiag" on my TJ210 but can now only do this when the modem is offline (ie NTL CATV down), so cannot see signal levels or configured rates any more (at least with 4 or 10Mbps service)
