Telewest are offering 200 'Free' minutes for £20 per month including line rental.
Now if you take the line rental away, that leaves £9.
£9 x 100 (to bring it to pennies) = 900.
900 divided by 200 = 4.5
So it seems to me that the 'Free' minutes are actually costing 4.5p per min.

Have I got that wrong because 4.5pence per minute doesn't sound like free.

you are comparing apples with fruit salad :monkey:

You are quoting for standard landline calls; Telewest are offering more than this -
Calls included in the usage allowance:

Local & national (starting 01 or 02)
Mobiles (starting 07)
Non-geographic (08 except 0800)
International and international mobile (all countries)
Dial-up internet numbers http://www.telewest.co.uk/websales/product.do?id=10533

But the advert says 'Free', so no matter where you are ringing, it is 4.5p and not free.

Sorry - I worded that wrong. It don't actually give you a price per minute so it must be "Call anywhere at 4.5p per minute for 200 minutes, then normal Telewest call charges after 200 mins".

I think I have got that right this time - I did say have I got it wrong.

But is only suitable for anyone who makes national, international or mobile calls, it is obviously no good if you are only making local calls.

Thanks for that jk - so now I understand - I wish they would make it clearer so you knew exactly what you were signing up for.

I been looking at the options because I am thinking of ditching telewest phone, it don't come out well in the comparison sites.

Thanks for the welcome guys
