Hi has anybody had to claim on house insurance for broken windows is it covered on building insurance or house insurance i have a double glazed unit in the sun lounge that i hit with a small stone when i was cutting the grass opps. Ive never claimed before so am a novice.

Its on buildings. Do you have accidental cover, if you dont, then dont tell them it was you with your lawn mower.

Worth getting a quote from a glazier first. Then read the policy to check the excess. You never know but insurance often goes up the year after you make a claim (I know I'm cynical but that's how they get their money back), so you need to be sure a small claim will be worth the effort. I suppose it depends on the size of the glass.
