View Full Version : cmd prompt
Anybody remember the cmd prompts for acquiring a new ip address? I remember CS helping me do this when connecting a new router.
ipconfig /release
then
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /renew
although I have never done this, I am not sure what happens.
although you could put in ipconfig /? to get help from the command prompt

Or you can do it the normal Windows (XP) GUI via Network Connections in Control Panel.
Disabling and re-enabling the connection will do it or hitting the repair button within the properties of the connection.
Many thanks for the fast replies
