Have you considered using Call18866? Checked their tariffs for calling NZ and got the following rates back...

To land lines: 2 p/min
To mobile phones: 15 p/min

I used them for calling France, and whilst obviously the quality wasn't as good as using purely BT, it was OK. You might want to give it a try to see what the quality of service is like for NZ.

ps - Oh, nearly forgot, it's free to set-up an account with Call18866.

pps - as you're on TW, this (http://www.call18866.co.uk/mobilerates.php) page might be of interest.

Hope that helps :)

No idea, I'm afraid.... I use BT for my landline.

NTL have a tariff guide available here... http://www.ntl.com/home/telephone/pdf/TelcoTariff.pdf

But it's not much use as it's just an empty document

Oh, just seen that TW have a better page here (www.telewest.co.uk/html/telephone/callcosts.html). Apparently a daytime call to NZ will cost you 33½p per minute.

3p a min plus 6p connection. Or 20p a min and 6p connection depending on the page you are looking at :erm:, the link Gareth posted works for me.

You might want to consider using Dialaround (http://www.dialaround.co.uk) to lower the longdistance rates. I use them all the time to call family in Canada and France (land line) for 1p a minute from my NTL phone.

I usually don't tend to trust these 'dial our access number and then the number you want to call' type of things, but I've been using this one for about 9 months now without any issues or billing mistakes.

Their current rates are here (http://www.dialaround.co.uk/rates.php).
NZ land line: 1p/min
NZ mobile: 15p/min

There is no account to set up, either! You just call their access number and then the number you want to call. I've never had any call quality issues either, the line is just as clear as if I'd dialed direct! The charges show up on your phone bill associated to the access number dialed.

Hope this helps!
