Why have Mars rennamed themselves "Believe"? What a ridiculous name...

Marathon to Snickers was bad enough.

What is this current trend of rebranding. I agree sometimes it's appropriate and can see the need to unify a product across Europe etc....

But Believe.........

I see. Surely "England" would have been a better choice then?

Ahh, but then it may offend our Scottish, Welsh and Irish neighbours.

Well up here in Glasgow there have been some billboards advertising the Mars 'believe' but with the Scottish flag as the back drop and 2010, as if that will help us get to the next World cup. lol

Its marketed in England as Believe that you will win the 2006 World Cup, where as in Scotland, Wales and N Ireland its marketed as Believe for the 2010 World Cup.

Absolutely - I'd call that a pleasure you can't measure :D

Its been in the papers today that sales of Mars bars have plummeted in Scotland as people refuse to buy them.

Mars knocked together the Belive billboard with the saltire on the back saying 2010 (basically insinuating qualifing for the 2010 World Cup) as an afterthought and nobody up here is buying it.

What will the chippies serve then?

They're going to have to resort to selling chips :Yikes:

A bit of a silly name indeed.

Plus someone is bound to think it is called "Believe" as it is trying to brainwash you to take up the religion of Mars-imism and would be a religious scandel where you have to worship mars bars.
Or maybe that is just me trying to find any excuse to slate mars bars.

You know this is one of those Urban myths i think, i mean, i've never, ever seen anybody deep fry anything other than a pizza up here.

Which to be honest - is bad enough.

OK, forgetting about the 'small' picture ( UK ) what about global name changes, have mars changed to Belive in all the world cup nations countries ???

And yep, what a waste of time and money.
