We have had two visits for our local police first time at 2am waking us all up second time at just after 10pm the police said that they had, a drop call from this number no one had used the phone at the time of the dropped calls so NTL’s phone service was dialling the call by its self

We reported this to NTL the first time this happened they came and tested the line we reported this the second Time this happened they came out and pull up cable in the fount garden and re-install cable and box in house saying that the instillation was very poorly install they came back the next day and put the cable back in the front garden this has been poorly re-install it is less than 25mm down and in places still showing this is because the cable has been cut to short also the box that the cable runs into will not fit propel.

This happens from time to time. I'd also request that ntl send you an itemised bil as well as this fault can dial the operator and all other numbers.

However it is possible for sky box's to have the same fault.l

call customers services, they will/should book a tech to check your line, you may have an earth condition that is/may be causing this..

:) Sounds like a short on the line .Needs a enginer to come out to check your line .was the line disconected after the police left as this is sometimes the case

@nedkelly, a short is likely to make the line go engaged/plo, an earth will cause 999 calls/ noisey line :P the exchange interprets the noise as clicks,= dials 9 then another and so on.

Just call CS and get them to send an engineer.
