HELP!!! I'm new to bloody cable and wish I hadn't bothered.
Right in the middle of a programme tonight the screen went blank...
the front of the box now goes through this sequence...
(botton green light) on it's own
then ----
then PACE
then (middle green light)
then (top green light)
then back to (bottom green light)
It's doing this continuously!
I rang CS and they said they can't get an engineer here till FRIDAY morning! Boy I'm really getting steamed here.
BTW - am in the Harrow area.

welcome to the site as said before pray for a 2000STB its quite normal for boxes to have a few probs now and again
Try pm'ing a mod and seeing if they can hook you up with someone at ntl who can help.....?
Its strange,
I'm having exactly the same problem - very good description.
Believe it or not I too live in Harrow and its going to take them 5 days to send an Engineer out.
What was the solution to your problem ?

Correct me if i'm wrong but that sounds like the box is recieving a software update from the network... swicthing it off while it's doing this will almost *definately* require an engineer visit, as you will have corrupted the firmware... no?
Thats what it sounds like to me anyway...
