Hello all,

Sold some items on eBay recently - got a cheque today for one of the items but it has arrived in a plastic bag from Royal Snail with "Appoliges we damaged your item" on it....

Usual blah blah blah but the question is - the check is ripped - not badly, but it has ripped about an inch from the bottom....will it still be accepted by the bank??

As long as all the details are intact and you have all of the cheque I would think it's ok? You could always try ringing your bank to see what they say.

I'd say it'll be ok... Just take the note from the post office in with it.

OK - thanks for the info - I have all the cheque - it's just ripped...

The envelope is ripped as well (obviously) - must have got snagged in the sorter!

Hello,

For the record - Barclays cashier looked at it - thought about it for about 1 min and decided they would accept it! :)

they taking the ID thing too far here, my sister cashed a cheque for me, cheque was payable to me and she was depositing it in my account which was of course same name.

They wanted photo id of her to prove she was a relation.
