Do you get your BB connection via your Set Top Box or a Cable Modem?

Its cause ppl call up retentions and get the deals. My BB costs me <£10 a month (did £27.50/3) and its 2 Meg which is usually £24.99.

If youre nearing the end of your contact give retentions a ring.

They infact rang me and tried to talk me into dropping my bt landline and going with them, as a sweetner they offered me 10mb which I was already on but at £17.50 a month for 12 months, so on my bills now I get a credit of £17.50 it does only say 3mths on it tho, so we shall see.

But yeah if you want faster and cheaper then ask them ;)

I didn't even take the phone option as I said I would think about it

ROFL what a bunch of total muppets.

No chaps you're supposed to give him the discount when he agrees not just arbitrarily give him it for thinking about it :D

Anyone still paying £35/mth for 10Mbit or should they just change the default code for 10Mbit to the £17.50 price?

Do the research; I genuinely found a far better deal-combo using other providers than ntl - I spent a week on this!

When I said I was off (and I would have gone), retentions asked what I was going to instead. They then matched the much improved service I was going to get, also knocking 30% of my monthly bill.:D

I used to have 2Mb + analogue tv + phone line for £32.
After 40 mins on the phone, i now have:
10Mb + digital basic package + free local\national calls 24\7 for £25 PM for 6 Months then a review ( by then 10Mb should be standard with NTL) from £9.99 Pm.
As you can see i am very happy :-)))))))))

If you genuinely find a cheaper deal or combination, call ntl CS and say "I want to talk to someone in disconnections please." Because that's what you want to do.

In putting you through, they will ask why you want to be disconnected. "I have found a cheaper and better combination of services." Then explain what you have.

Because you have a valid 'complaint', you will probably be put through to retentions to re-explain your case. They will review your account, see what you have, then make you an offer. If not, leave - you have a better deal.
