Hey guys,

I need some advice as i know this is possible but it's hard finding the information, so i'm hoping someone on here will have the answer to my question or can point me in the right direction.

I have NTL 10mbit running on the old school SB3100 modem. From my understanding this modem's BaseT is 10mbit, so it won't be able to take full advantage of the downstream that i currently have.

I have another surfboard modem which has a 10/100 BaseT. I would like to use this but it won't work. Can i clone the MAC address from my registered modem onto this modem that i would like to use? Will it then enable me to use the service on this new modem?

I do recall an NTL employee telling me this over the phone. That was ages ago though.

Thanks in advance !

Yes you can do this... Strictly speaking you shouldn't, but...
