NTL and Newsgroup [Archive]

Does anyone here use Giganews with NTL. The reason I ask is because for the last week or so, I've had really terribly slow downloads from Giganews, just wondering if NTL is capping the speed on their Newsgroup Access.

Anyone know?

Looks like it!

I use newsdemon & I'm getting 150k/sec from them, and I'm on 10mbit!!

According to thier tech support NTL/Blueyonder ARE throttling newserver ports!

Newshosting is giving me the full 10mbit at the moment.

They are outright liars, apparently they offer it as fast as your connection can go. Well I've got news for them, they are a newshosting reseller, so why is it people with newshosting / other resellers dl much faster?

I'd get out as soon as you can...I tried their unlimited 4 conn and 8 conn gb packs...one of the worst in terms of speed.
