I took NTL up on an offer lately to lower my bill by about £20 and at the same time upgrade to 2mb braodband. For some reason though the internet is running very intermitently since the upgrade. It is taking 2 or 3 attempts to access sites either because they are listed as missing or because they only half load (as an example this site quite often loads nothing more than the blue bar at the top.
When it does work it goes blisteringly fast but just about every image is missing from the pages (such as right now every image below the blue banner bar up there ^^^ is showing as a red cross). Calls to broadband faults always get the same advise. Clear cookies and files, reset settings and try this proxy (always the same one) but it never fixes the trouble.
File downloads run at good speeds and are not a problem, just page loading.
