Thanks to some top quality help on here I've now got my Bowling Club website up and running albeit basic at this stage. However the url format of :- http://homepage.ntlworld.com.user.name/Bowling_Club/index.html doesn't exactly roll off the tongue or be that memorable. If I purchase a decent domain name like www.bowlingclub.co.uk can I point this at my ntl page or vice versa if thats how it works, thus allowing me to have a www.etc website but using my ntl webspace. Is a URL and a domain name the same thing ?.
I noticed on ntl websapce customer directory that there were a few that had www addresses. I didn't particularly want to fork out for web hosting when i could use the ntl space. And if can do it where's the best place to buy the domain name ?.
Cheers, Pete

yes, you can indeed.. when you buy the domain.. you should get a control panel of some description.. once you've got that far.. give me a shout (PM, email) and i'll talk you through it . I recommend http://www.123-reg.co.uk for a cheap and easy to maintain domain name.
