My sister has tasked me with putting a CD together with music for playing when everyone is eating.

So, its gotta be low key and soothing and blend into the background. I don't want just classical and i fancy making it quite upto date.

Any suggestions ?

Sort of thing I'm after is Jack Johnson, Damien Rice, Robbie's Swing tracks etc.......
Unfortunatley I think I'll also put some nice cheesy ones on there.

Iron Maiden - Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter...

Actually, no, thats not a good idea.

Try something with soft acoustics in, i'm not sure what the bands name is, bvut whoever i'm thinking of are quite good at belnding into the background.

The Prodigy: Smack my Bitch up..

Actually, seriously, what about something slushy, like I will always love you? (by Dolly Parton or Whitney Houston).

Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict A Riot (for the after meal entertainment or is it just the weddings I've been to oops: )

Norah Jones perhaps or how about just sticking on the latest version of "Now Thats What I Call Music"

I agree with slushy - but please no Whitney Houston, she cannot sing that song, in my opinion & sounds like a donkey braying ;)

How about

Most Beautiful Girl in the World - Charlie Rich

Always on my Mind - Willy Nelson

Ain't no Sunshine - Bill Withers

That Old Devil Called Love - Alison Moyet

Eternal Flame - The Bangles

Me & Mrs Jones - Billy Paul

Everytime you Go Away - Paul Young

- and the ultimate

Can't Take my Eyes off You - Andy Williams

:D
