Would we need other tenants permission?

Hi

Telewest are looking at allowing access to the network to 3 of the flats in our building (mine being one of them) as these are nearest to the existing network.

There are 9 flats in the block and the remaining 6 won't have access.

All the flats are private rental flats and the landlords are happy to give their permission for any installation work.

Would Telewest also need the permission from the other 6 tenants before work can begin ?

Any cables will only be installed on the walls of the properties getting access.

The only people who need to give permission are those who have an "interest" in the property in question. A right of access form will need to be completed. If the cable needs to run through the property of a neighbour, for example, the neighbour must sign the ROA. However, if the landlord owns the whole building, ROA from him/ her would be fine. It would be upto the landlord to check any contract he/ she had with the other tenants regarding running cables though the property that they are paying rent for if this is relevant.

Thanks for the quick responce.

The cables are going to be external running up the front of the building and only connected to the walls of the properties being connected.

Won't be anywhere near the unconnected flats either internally or externally.

Looks like it will be ok then.
