In the May edition of Computer Shopper, I found an article announcing that NTL has atarted trials of it's 100Mbit/s service....

'NTL is running trials of a broadband service that promises download speeds roughly 10 times as fast as its current 10Mbit/s premium service.....

The cable firm was tight-lipped over exactly when it would introduce its 100Mbit/s service, or what it would cost, but reports suggest that the trials have been successful and that a product should appear late this year.....'

WOW.... Anyone else got any more information??? S.Korea have this speed as standard, its about time we caught up!!!:)

So if they are trialling 100mbit, maybe some of the people might actually see 10 meg?

NTL are running the 100meg service to all top tier users right now - but it's an 'upto' 100meg service which apparently likes to be around dial up speeds erm upto most of the time!

LOL :D

Just as a point of interest, on a 100Mb download speed, what would be the minimum speed for upload need to be just to download at 100Mb?

100mbit of course, but with that in mind you would rarely get it if its a shared source and of course you need to be really close to see 100mbit speeds over the internet, the most likely way of achieveing 100mbit is doing many threads at the same time of different locations.

About 2% if set up efficiently so say 2Mbps or so. Depends what you use to download though.

It has to be reality if they want to further increase speeds and not cause the problems that are happening now.
