...for which you can be nicked.....

I know. It nearly happened to me....I'd just come back fromt the GF's last Christmas (she lives in a small village in the country side), but the town wasn't so foggy...I got stopped by the Rozzers who had a drink / drive trap....

Mr's Rozza gave me a producer and told me not to drive with fog lights on...

Yes it was foggy that night but town was not so bad - I was about 15 seconds from my house as well. So next time I won't bother with fog lights....and I'll no doubt be in the wrong then as well!

This is like mine but mine is blackNice... a friend of mine has one too. I remember some chav asking him what size engine it has and laughing when he told him it has the equivalent of a 1.3l. This guy laughed that his Saxo or whatever he was driving was faster. Then my friend pointed out it's a rotary engine so his 1.3l actually kicks out 238bhp :D

Costs a fortune to run though, eh?

He also had a track day with ProDrive when he bought his, where they taught him how hard he can push the car and how well the brakes work - did you get one too?

In fact, even my missus likes it... partly because it's fast but also because of the way the rear doors open

oh please he cant be serious, it stinks of he's got caught for speeding, crashed and is trying to get out of it.
Did he not think to turn the ignition off then to aux to kill the engine. he did manage to call the aa and the police did none of them suggest turning it off either :dozey:

As for my car see avatar.

I put about £70 a month in for petrol as i dont drive it very much. I was offered a track day but refused as i knew what it was like and didnt need to be told. Before i moved to Wales from USA i had an RX-7 was was nice but not as nice as this.

This is like my RX-7 i had in the states

Excatly.....my 1st thought would have been to put it in neutral then braking real hard then turning off the ignition because if you turn off the ignition it will lock the steering and at those speeds i would not try it.

I doubt he would have called the police when he was speeding unless he is a complete idiot.

Turning off the engine would have killed his power steering and could quite possibly have left him in a 140 MPH straight line till he slows down or hits something.

If the power steering fails, it is quite possible to maintain control of the car, it just takes more effort.

As i'd said turn it off and then back on again to aux position, in that position all essential systems on a vehicle must remain working. He wouldnt of been doing 140mph though as he had managed to slow it to 70 allready whilst cooking his brakes. without engine ignition and working brakes he'd of come to a full stop in a matter of seconds and not manage to drive for 60 miles.

My car the brakes run off a central hydraulic system (controls power steering and suspension as well) the system is powered off a pump run directly off the engine. Without a working engine i have no brakes and no power steering, however there is a reserve in the system in the event of engine failure there is enough reserve to peform 3 full stops from maximum speed whilst steering.

That bmw i believe uses a fly by wire throttle as well so restarting the ecu could of fixed a jammed throttle sensor.

as with all electronics if in doubt restart it
