Hello everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my Philips 21" tv to a Widescreen TV.

I purchased a Philips 32PW9308 which was faulty - lines all over the screen - kept switching itself off and on and there was a whine from the rear of the set :(

Anyway got a refund and I did some investigating on various forums and it turns out that most 100hz tv's have some problem or other due to the digital picture effects.

So i have decided to stick with 50hz sets.

My budget is £600 max and I would prefer a flat screen and at least 2 scart sockets.

Size wise the 32" was great but I would consider a 28".

I will be viewing through NTL Digital.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thx in advance,

Kula

I've got two Panasonic's 28" and 32" wide. Great sets, both 50Hz although XBOX is fine at 60hz

I know the 28" I got was under £600 probably get them for sub 500 or 450 now? In fact on www.Currys.co.uk my TV is listed as a web exclusive for £383.00 (28" one)

Only disappointment I've ever had are:
Only one of the scart sockets is RGB other is plain old PAL
When you mute the TV - MUTE is shown on the screen and doesn't go away (therefore turn volume down to zero).
Otherwise great sets.

i dont know if you are looking for a name or not , do you have an asda near you , they were doing widescreen tv's for very good prices with a 3 year g'tee , ok so the name may not be the best but i dont reckon you can argue about the price :D
