5 min cutoff

Hi - my friend has ntl broadband, and for some reason it keeps cutting out on her every 5 minutes. She's using msn messenger, so i doubt it's anything to do with being idle...any ideas whats wrong?

What operating system, firewalls, connection hardware are in use?

Firewall: XP
Router: Wireless - Ovislink WMU-9000VPN

Does it do it without the router in the setup?

I don't know, since the router is their only connection in the setup. lol...ive been thinking it could be because there's a firewall built in, as well as the firewall on the connection?
