Well this is probably a dumb question but someones got to ask them!

I have a 750k business line coming into my office but have a 2mb connection at home so the question is can I somehow log into my home account at work and then use it at that speed?

I'm assuming that this is impossible due to the way the accounts are set up and registered but if there is a way then I'd be grateful for your help

Both connections use swansea proxys if that makes any difference.

TIA

Probably not. The account (& therefore the speed) is assigned to the modem, but modems tend not to work if taken outside their area and connected up.

if your in the same area maybe if you took the home modem into work? I would say though that this would contravine t&c quite a bit though

Thanks both for your quick replys!

It does seem as I thought then that the modem is registered to an individual and as such all the account details such as speed and location are stored within it.

One thing I did notice when I first had cable at work was that I still had an going dialup account with AOL and this worked fine through NTL. Does this mean I was logged into AOL or NTL or both?
