View Full Version : House move woes

Is it my imagination or are the NTL Moves+Transfers department trying to annoy me sufficiently to make me cancel my account? I've had phone+tv+broadband for 5 years and have just moved house. I arranged a house move date of 4th Feb, but had to cancel it on am 2nd due to problems with my buyer. Nonetheless my internet was cancelled on 2nd anyway (no idea why...). I spent 2 weeks trying to get them to re-enable it, with no success. Then got a new move date of 24th, and arranged an engineer for the install. My TV was cut off on the 20th (no idea whjy - spot a theme yet?).

Engineer turned up and installed everything, phone+TV is working fine, broadband is not registered. The engineer told me I'd need to use the "install CD" as he couldn't activate the modem. But surpriisngly I no longer had the original "wlecome letter". Moves+transfers gave me a new PIN and told me "any problems call broadband support". I used the https://autoreg.autoregister.net (https://autoreg.autoregister.net/) site to try and register, but lo and behold the PIN was "Invalid". Broadband support told me I should be using the https://autoreg.autoregister.net//cgi/housemove url, but when I tried that and used my username+password I got an error that the user was "Locked". Broadband support said they+customers services would try and resolve it, but failing that its back to Moves+Transfers....No doubt they'll tell me to call broadband support...Fun fun fun.

Why is house moving made so hard? Does anyone have any cunning plans to "persuade" moves+transfers to actually sort this mess out.
