Do you view your STB in RGB mode?
I've just got a TV that can handle RGB, as its supposed to be superior to the conventional mode i decided to switch the STB over to RGB. However in RGB mode there seems to be a small anmount of flicker in the picture (more noticeable when your looking at the puple menus) which isn't present in conventional mode.
Any ideas?

Try checking your scart leads always had RGB no problems 1000, 2000 or 4000 boxes.

Thanks, The Scart leads are all new. I've tried swapping the leads around and also using old none gold ones but there doesnt seem to be any difference.
Have you tested your television with a different device that can output RGB in order to eliminate the possibility that it is a problem with the television?

Yes, My home cinema system works fine in RGB mode. Whati havent checked is swapping the Scart inputs over. Might try that tonight.

4000I did not have any problems with my 4000 box RIP, but understand that it is possible depending on the quality of the TV set. Also it depends on how good the RGB is within the TV.

It should work but first check out another device if that works then the only way forward is to call CS and seek further advice on this.

Does your TV accept RGB on both Scart inputs?
I know mine only works on one input and not on the other.
you said your home cinema is fine in RGB mode... do you disconnect it/turn it off when you have the STB on in RGB mode... the reason I ask is i get cross talk from my dvd player to the stb if they are both on, although if the two scarts are available as seperate inputs you would hope they would be wired seperately, but I have heard of other people having crosstalk/interference problems.
Hi,
I think you need to check which scart socket you have the STB pluggede into. If you check the your TV Spec (http://www.panasonic.co.uk/widescreen-flat-tv/tx32pd30/) is suggests that only AV1 and AV4 have RGB in. The picture should be a lot sharper with RGB, you could switch between composite and RGB on the STB to check that you are relly seeing the RGB output, the change should be noticable.

Thanks for all the replies. Yes there are 5 AV inputs on the TV 4 of which are scart sockets (all separate AV inputs) and two of these input accept RGB. So in theory this should all work. Since i wrote this ive lost the red input from both devices. An engineer came to visit the other day and he believes that the TV is goosed.

Hi there - I have the same problem as you after buying a new Panasonic TH42PW6B plasma screen. In RGB it flickers a little but in composite it is nearly perfect. I tried to get help from Panasonic but they haven't got in touch yet. It seems to me that it is the TV rather than NTL although the dealer I bought it from said that 3 other people have been experiencing the same issue - one of them a SKY+ user so it makes me think it may ba a Panasonic thing.

I am seeing RGB because the TV tells me that and the sTB is set to RGB, but still a flicker. Ive turned the sharpness down and this reduces it

Lets us know if you get help from Panasonic. I've had a few probs with this set up and Panasoinc have be useless apart from the fact they keep offering a refund!

TV has now been changed and solved a colour issue in RGB mode but there is still a flicker . ggrrrrrrrrrr i still think if could be the STB as the Home cinema doesnt flicker at all when viewed in RGB
