I have two unique subnets, ive had one of either since i had NTL. I was just wondering if there is anyway to change my subnet. (or if they are due to change in my area waterlooville).

I got subnet banned out of my own server :(

Do you mean Subnets or Subnet Masks? If the latter it's auto assigned depending on the class of the IP (255.0.0.0 for IPs 1.0.0.0-126.0.0.0, 255.255.0.0 for 128.0.0.0-191.0.0.0, 255.255.255.0 for 192.0.0.0 on) and if it's the former... well, that can't really be changed.

In short, you can't, unless your ip changes class.

Quick answer nope.

Long answer, there are a couple of IP ranges allocated to each card by ntl, as to preserve jobs doing pointless IP provisioning they have an allergy to 'IP Bundling' - allocation of one much bigger IP range to an entire uBR, despite this being far more efficient on IP address use and manpower, and the way every other cable ISP literally in the world does it. As both subnets have been banned there's nothing you can do.

If it's your server, use a proxy, there are loads of lists around, and do it that way.

If as is more likely the owner of the site / IRC channel banned you, or r00ted your server, it would have been on a far larger subnet than either of these, well done :)

That's a pile of poop by the way, we have Classless Interdomain Routing now and have for years, put the (old) Cisco book or Google search away ;)

No longer allergic, I'm delighted to report :)

But in general you get an IP out of a finite number of subnets allocated to your area. It's impossible to get one from out of area and still route traffic properly.
