Everyone.

I am getting my Nephew a christening gift, but I am not going to go for the usual silver teddy banks and what not.

Instead I am going to get him a Scottish Quaich.

I want to get this engraved and this is my problem!

What do I get engraved?

eg:
Name
Christened: date

how should the name be engraved?
First
First & Middle
First & Last
First, Middle & Last ??

And should I get anything else engraved on it?

I neeed this urgently as I need to buy it tomorrow and get it engraved by Sunday, I have been looking for gifts for ages until I came up with the Quaich idea today.

thanks

ik
p.s. if this has been doubled please forgive me, as the last time I tried to make this thread it went back a few pages and I think I lost the whole thread and I only used the ? a few times when it failed.

I think it will be the full name and your christened with all your names and not just 1 are you not? It was a long time ago i got dipped so I can't remeber :)
I would have it engraved
......BLAR DE BLAIR
........christened
.......26\01\2006

Quaich = "quake" or "Qu-A-ch" (as in loch)

Thanks People,

Marge I took your Idea and changed it slightly.

I consulted my parents and they aggreed that if he keeps it when he is older, as they are supposed to be keeps sakes, then this would be more appropriate:

Full Name
On your Christening
29/01/2006
From
Uncle David

ik
p.s. yes my name is David

On a christening gift, Ik/David, I'd be inclined to put just the forenames, not the surname, as those are the names your nephew is being christened with.

Apart from that, like it! ;-D

re-opening this thread, as I am in need of another present.

this time for a girl, my niece, Aoife.

I got my nephew a quaich as some of you know, but I was thinking of a goblet this time for my neice?
what you guys think?
I seen this
Georgian Goblet 29a (http://www.pewter.co.uk/acatalog/pewtergoblets.html)
bell goblet 14 (http://www.pewter.co.uk/acatalog/pewtergoblets.html)
http://www.smallislandtrader.com/silver/arthur_price/gobltstankrds/splash.htm

again I will engrave it the same as I engraved the last present.
