10mb down to 2mb ?!

About half an hour ago, my modem reset and when it was back on, i was on the 2mb service! I got the 10mb jus over a month ago, and since then, it is quite possible, even probable that i have exceeded the 75gb cap.

However, i thought that if you did this you got a letter saying and then if you continued you got downgraded to 512k?

I also don't understand why it's been done now, a bit over a week after the first month was over. I was on the 2mb service before i upgraded, could it be a mistake? I guess i should fone them, but just wondering if you are now downgraded to 2mb instead of 512?

I would ring and check, it might just be that the bad connections here and there are hitting you atm.

Naw it's not poor speed, i have looked at the modem operation config, it's on Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 2048000

On a positive note I have got through to India 2 days running in about 45 secs :tu:

So was i have now been dropped down to 2 mb was getting 7.5meg moden has been locked aswell.
I dont bother opening the direct debit letters from NTL but just have not been charged still on 24 pounds but used site to change over to 10 meg? 16.12.05
Also i run DU meter upload and download was 58gig for December.

i was wandering that... getting thorough to india isn't neccecerally a bad thing if the person on the other end of the phone knows what they are doing and you can understand what they are saying.

unfortantly most indian call centers cannot deviate from the script and you can't even make out what the person is saying half the time and thats where the problem lays with these cheap indian call centers.

The first time I called I got a polite, efficient woman who did her best to help and logged everything so that when I rang back to continue with ntl's set routine the man I spoke to just picked up from where I had got to. Engineer was booked for 24 hrs later (waiting for him atm). Service has been great so far...

Hi eZ, the same thing happened to me, i was on the 2mb upgraded to the 10mb service via web site before christmas, couple of days ago i was back on 2mb, i was getting roughly 7-9 mb connection before i was suddenly back on 2mb, i phoned cs and was told that according to her records i was never on the 10mb an would i like to upgrade over the phone now, i said yes, reset modem and was back on 10mb. i just got my bill for last month and have only been charged for 2mb, Weird!!
