I've read this (http://www.cableforum.co.uk/article/221/ntl-broadband-1-and-2mb-goes-unlimited-jan-2006) article on this website about unlimited downloads for 1 and 2 mb customers , it includes:

ntl has informed us that the 1Mb and 2Mb broadband speed tiers will go unlimited from January 2006 with no change in the price. This means ntl broadband internet subscribers on these speed tiers, can from January 2006, surf the internet and download as much as they like.

Well, has this happened? I've got a 1MB connection so it means that the 3GB per month allowence is now unlimited right?

don't know if it has happened yet, as there is no indication as to whether that is beginning/ end/ middle of january.

As far as we know that is correct. Several people have received paper bills with the same info on them but as above when in January is up for debate lol.
