Hello Guys
I am a complete newbie in the world of PS2. I bought last week for my boys a slimline PS2 (Pal). Over the holidays we received 5 PS2 titles NTSC from our beloved friends/family members in the US. None is working...I always get the message on TV to insert a DVD...
I googled the topic and was confused. By reading some threads on this site I noticed it MAY be possible. Can someone PLEASE guide me on how to overcome this problem?
Regards

:welcome:

PS2 games are region-locked.

As such, you cannot play US games on a UK machine.

The only way around it is to get the PS2 "chipped" ("modded") - which is legally dubious & as such will not be discussed here.

Thank you for clarifying this...Is "swap magic & slide card kit" also illegal?
If so how come so many websites are selling it?
Cheers

Its not really the PAL NTSC thing thats just the signal format. Its is the fact that the games were bought in the US and will therefore only work on a console bought over there.

That lets you play DVD movies from other regions, plus play CDRs with MP3s & video files...no mention of playing games from other regions though.
