i'm hoping someone might be able to help me as i find all this a bit confusing...

I want to get a digital set top box thingy to get freeview. I checked my postcode for coverage and that's fine but i saw on the freeview site that only certain aerials work with it. In our house we use the ntl socket (which i think we used to have a phone line in, or its something to do with the internet) to get our tv picture. Would we be able to use this for freeview?

any help would be much appreciated as im not very technologically minded!

No you will need to get a separate aerial set up.

'Fraid not - the NTL cable doesn't carry 'Freeview' broadcasts.

You would need a separate indoor aerial at least, or more likely an outdoor/loft aerial. :)

Best to look here:
http://www.cai.org.uk/asp/faq.asp

Then look for local member, and get them to look at instalation work to be done, they will advise on cost etc (these guys are Pro's at this honestly).

You're as likely to be ripped off by a member as otherwise.

I've used CAI members everywhere I've moved houses to (due to moving schools a lot for my special needs son) and have never once had any trouble or problems with the member used, both in terms of quality of work, and competitive pricing, plus they offer a full and ongoing guarantee for 12 months that actualy means something, try getting that from joe average from the local paper under aerial riggers?
