Howabout some of the old hip hop ?

isn't "old" & "hip hop" a contradiction?;)

and as for R&B - it is rhythm & blues - not rhythm n bass - or whatever - pop/soul/blues/country/folk was complicated enough - why did we go more complicated than that?

garage - hip-hop - rap?

I liked the eminem show album tho - just to dis myself:)

Seems hip-hop is older than you think. Take a look here :-Timeline - history of hip-hop (http://www.ask.co.uk/ix.asp?q=history+of+hip+hop&ac=ENTS&xx=0&qid=30600407067CD240BD061C7ABBEC7DDA&p=0&s=1&sp=ix&fn=t&b=0&fo=2&r=10&io=1&fp=1&fr=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eb%2Dboys%2Ecom%2F&adurl=)

I must admit what I've heard so far from that has been good - might have to go and buy the album.....

Also there was a similar thread a while ago - but that was Kronas looking to 'expand his horizons' - try http://forum.nthellworld.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1617

No "by the way" was by far the worst red hot chilli peppers album ever. They have became to mainstream, there earlier albums are far superior.

Because at least then they had there individual style. Now they arent as impressive in my opinion as you put it have "mellowed out".

Totally agree.

"Blood Sugar Sex Magik" is IMO still the best RHCP album.

They went downhill after Fruscianti (sp?) left. Got a bit better when he returned from his "time off", but still not as good.
