Works on firmware up to 2.6

Seems pretty cool - I still have to upgrade to 2.6 tho...

Nice find mate!

Ingenious... bypass homebrew protection by doing it in HTML and javscript. nice :)

Eh? The files are stored locally, it shouldn't need to connect to the net... Tried turning wi-fi off at the switch and trying it? Unless it has to connect to some sites to work maybe.

Just tried it with wi-fi off, works fine except for the MSN messenger of course.

Also, if you go to www.sudoku.com.au, they have an excellent sudoku game written entirely in javascript. You can isolate that code, and the arrays storing the numbers to have a built in sudoku game on your PSP :)

Can I just check something that I never understood ?

Does a PSP allow you to browse the net normally (as in normal looking pages etc) ? And messenger ?

Yes it does skyblue the browser is quite ingenious actually and formats the code to fit the screen etc with very few problems.

Only if it is in javascript. The web browser doesn't support proper Java or Flash (yet) but should do soon apparently.

It let me use the finder, iCal, Address Book, all without connecting...

Does it connect as you load the browser or as you load the webpage?

You are using "file:/" and not "http://" aren't you? Also note that it is only one forward slash on file:/ and not two like normal.

Don't suppose you got any screenies of how they look on the screen ?

And does the lack of keyboard hinder you using messenger etc ?

Does this only work on 2.6? (I have 1.5)

You need web browser capability so 2.0 upwards.
They get their fancy mac osX stuff and we get our homebrew!

I'll take some pics in a little while for you mate. You can buy an addon PDA styled keyboard if you want (20 squid if memory serves). Otherwise, its a cross between entering your name on a high score sheet on a console and a mobile phone. Each button has 3 or so letters, so with ABC, you just press it twice for b, three times for c, etc. There are shortcuts for http://, .com, .co.uk, etc.

It works via a web browser with Javascript capability. version 2.0 and up has the official browser, but there are homebrews that have browsers, and indeed far more functionality. You can even get the full Mac OS running on it (not OSX though, OS9). There is a web browser built into Wipeout that you can hack. Don't know if it has Javascript though.

Theres alot of talk about wireless being wonderful for PSP, but what about us wired router users, do we get a piece of the pie ? :(

There is no wired support for PSP, nor do I think there ever will be. There is a mini-USB connection that could be used for a usb-to-ethernet connection, but with the cost etc, its just as cheap and much easier to go out and buy a new/second hand/ebayed wireless router. I doubt it would ever be cost effective.

I can't get this to work yet on my 2.60. It just seems to be disabled when I try to run it.

Got my PSP yesterday and got this X5 working without problems. I've just one question though - how do you save the desktop image? I've selected the image I want but I don't see anything to save it?

Thanks!
