I've got 600k broadband connected to my PC in my room. PS2 is also in my room next to my computer... haven't bought network adapter yet but will do once I know how to do it!

The Cheapest way of doing this would be to have 2 network cards in the PC.
Then set up Internet connection sharing (which is part of windows)

You connect 1 NIC to the modem and 1 to the PS2.

have a look here (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d.h.walker/cmtips/homelan.html)

Here's what I have:

PC with 600k broadband connected in my room to the set top box which is downstairs in the living room.
2 NICs, one of which is being used for the PC broadband.
PS2 with network adapter.

No router, nothing else. If I need a router can you point me in the right direction plz?

Cheers.
Simon

To setup Internet connection sharing on win98/me

I dont know how to do it on win XP but if you look in windows help it should say

Open Add/Remove Programs properties in Control Panel.
Click the Windows Setup tab, click Communications, and then click Details.
Select the Internet Connection Sharing check box, and then click OK.
Click OK, and follow the instructions in the Home Networking wizard.

Then you need to set an IP address for your 2nd network card:
Open Network properties in Control Panel.
In the network components list, click the TCP/IP of your 2nd Ethernet adapter.
Click Properties.
enter the IP 192.168.0.1
and subnet mask 255.255.255.0

You'll need xover cable from the PC to the PS2

Then have the network setting on the PS2 on automatic :tu:
