I suspect that the main dealer should be your first port of call...

Good luck in getting it sorted.
We lost a key with the built in electronic locking system and they quoted us about £100 for a new key !!!
Madness !!!

For my key it comes in 2 parts the metal bit for about£30 and the plastic bit with microchip for £50. If you have only broken one bit you might be lucky

Your main dealer should be able to supply just the metal then.

Just keep the plastic bit with the metal bit on the same keyring, your local dealer will be able cut you another key from the chasis numer of your car.

These days it is more like order one from head office, the cuttings etc all being stored / cut from some central database.

well i got a new key cut from my spare £44.07 but to program the key even tho i have the keycode they still need the car for some reason (think they change the code on all the keys) and all the fitters where on lunch so got to go back during my lunch 2morrow and that cost's £35 to £40 so all in all gonna cost me a total of £80

they program the key with a device which also plugs into the ignition if I remember rightly - last time I had this done was a few years back and they didnt charge me for it as it takes 1min to do!
