For the past week I've been getting nauseous after I eat something, I get no pain, I havn't been sick either. After some researching, I think it's led down to the stress I've had over the past year, and it's finnaly affected me.

I'm already trying my best to stay calm when ever possible, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips that I could use to help calm my stress even better.

If this stomach problem doesn't resolve by Monday my mom is taking me down the doctors any way, but I want to see if I can calm my self down to see if it helps or not.

Thanks!

Theres a few tips on here;

http://www.ivillage.co.uk/health/hlive/stress/articles/0,,181034_546571,00.html

I'd personally suggest having a nice hot bath once a week, lets you gather your thoughts, and affects you for the better biologically. I find a face towel dunkned in the water over the face is very good.

Classical music.

Try some sports, some kind of a way to vent your energy.

Watch comedys.

Try not to let things bother you (though this, I Know, is next to impossible)

Stress is a weird thing it can affect people differently, I was at the risk of redundancy last year, I survived but my mum didn't (during that time I had a shed load of stress), this year I was made redundant and I'm looking for work (and sufering from stress) I personally found that playing games like GTA:SA and shooting and crash in the game helps be get rid of the stress and anger that has affected me.

Not that I'm a voilent person it was/is a release valve.

Nope..I think it is stress that's causing it..Teaching is very stressful at times and I'm on my toes for 5/6 hours a day then I'm suddenly asleep for the rest.:(

If this is just a virus, any ideas what is the best action to help stop it until I see the doctors on Monday? At the moment I'm on corn flakes and plenty of water :(

thats probably the cause, your maintaining an artificial high for a long period of time. When the high subsides your body over compensates by shutting down

Try Ginger to combat the nausea.

Dry toast is pretty good, as is porridge made with just water.

That actually made me nauseous.

I was basing it on the all day morning nausea I suffered whilst pregnant. Couldn't stand the smell of meat cooking either. :erm:

Lemonade (the synthetic sort) I found helpful.

If I'm stressed I often like to put on my favourite CD and just listen to the music and nothing else.

When I just need to relax, I like to fill the bath to the top and just sit back for ages. It can totally refresh you. Some bubble bath products have lavender and other calming aroma's to help you relax.

Maybe try a relaxation tape / cd and breathing excercises?

They have helped me out in the past.

For my stomach my mom is going to get a pack of arrowroot biscuits for me - I've had these before when having a bad stomach, and they do work.

I suffered/suffer similar symptoms. Agree with Angua, ginger is excellent. Try a cup of ginger tea after a meal -i it's excellent for digestion and quelling nausea. Just 1/2 teaspoon of ginger , a teaspoon of honey and hot water. Ace (good for your circulation too).

I also do reike which, I was very sceptical about (and am still unsure of its alleged healing) but I find fantastically relaxing. Wonderful.

I also burn Frankincense at night; helps chill you out and get you to sleep.

As others said, exercise is good. and yes, finding and dealing with the cause of stress/anxiety. Not always easy as it's often work related, but well worth just sitting back and thinking what does get you going. I always used to think that I did a stressful job but didn't let it get to me; I was wrong. I've changed my lifestyle and my relationship with my partner is way, waty better as I'm far less irritable.

Sorry if this sounds me-me-me- but another thing I've found is shared experiences/talking about it also really helps.

Good luck with it anyway.

Different things work for different people.

Hot baths can be effective.
Activities which take you rmind of the problem can help.
Sleep of course helps but you cant do that all day, and stress can make it diffilcult to get to sleep.
Drugs that thin your blood wont stop you been stressed but should reduce the risk of problems that stress can cause.
Sex/Porn - This can be affective as well but again this will only be right for some people.
Winning the lottery - we can all dream :(
