Hey, thought I may as well sign up as I read these forums enough.

Up until a year ago, we had both Internet and phone from NTL but we swapped providers for both.

We still have the white box on the wall, where the line came into the house from before.

If I was to sign up again for the Internet services would they be able to activate the line again without any more installation work?

Any help appreciated :)

Well they won't need to do any construction work, but do you have an NTL modem? They will need to install that and check the signal levels.

Yep, still got the old NTL 120 modem here, the silver one although no cables.

It all sounds good then, hopefully nothing more needed than a quick engineer visit from what you say.

Went without a hitch, being installed next Friday afternoon :D

I was going to reactivate my BB over the weekend (I have an NTL 200 modem) and was told they could reactivate it. I'd need anengineer visit and be given a new updated modem. I said I'd be happy with the existing one wand was told that wasn;t possible. Seems a waste of modems to me, anyone know what the new modem is supposed to do that the 200 doesn't?

I would have thought they woundn;t have artificially crippled ANY modem to be restricted - especially since the bandwidth can be controlled by the management system...
