(thread idea lifted from another forum ;) :) )

Here goes......

Last night: "Underworld" (DVD) - good, better than I expected. I'd give it....7/10

Just finished watching: "Equilibrium" (DVD) - surprisingly very good. Good story, good cast, great action & fight scenes. Easily better than the awful Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions. Score: 8/10.

Definitely have to agree with that. Watched it again last night.
Too bad people thought it was a sequel or remake and so didn't let themselves enjoy it as much as they should.

Saw Kill Bill Vol 2 yesterday - not as good as part one, but I guess you have to see it, once you've watched the first.

More dialogue than the first, less action - but good story all the same and very stylish. 6/10 for Vol 2, 8/10 for Vol 1.

Yep - I've just seen Kill Bill Vol. 2. Disappointing compared to the first (Vol. 1 gets 10 / 10) but, in it's own right, I'd give it a 7.

Also saw Van Helsing last week - IMO, a great film. Action, adventure, comedy (oh, and Kate Beckinsale :naughty: ) - 10 / 10.

I think you're being generous there. :erm:

KB2 was (IMHO) the biggest disappoinment of all time film wise. It was nothing like the 1st one (V little action in comparison), & just seemed to drag on.

I'm certain QT could easily have cut out all the boring monologue from KB2, & just made 1 film....

andygrif
10-05-2004, 11:12
I thought the same Neil - there was an awful lot of dialogue in Vol 2 that was uneccesary to the plot, which could have been cut - making a 2.5 hour single film.

the movies i watched this weekend where ::
paycheck - ben afleck - typical hollywood big budget film that u feel u need to watch as someone spent a long time making it and it cost a bomb but it sucks and u know it sucks but u still watch it for the special fx and fight scenes and the ladies.

4/10

club dread:
random slaher comedy set on tropical island - low budget (fox search light) i laughed once was better than paycheck but only because it didnt try and be good- oh and the ladies were nicer had a silly silly silly ending nice ladies btw -

5/10

House of the dead:
based on the sega game of the same name even has random clips of the game - zombies eat a lot of partying people. ends just like the first game like resident evil film did. was naff in fact so crap i just had to watch it to see how rubbish it eventually got i was not disapointed but after watching it i felt happy i managed to sit through it - i have to wonder how people get paid to make movies like this - it did contain a few naked ladies but they soon died :(

3/10

Master and commander -
russel being a sailor i got to the bit where someone got shot as the doc was trying to save a bird. posibbly the most boring film of the lot but overall it was certainly better than the others i just didnt bother watching the end, what it needed was a load of sea battles and some swearing

6/10 only because it would then tie with club dread and thats a real bad film and russle would be upset.

Taking lives....with Angelina Jolie.

As if that wasn't reason enough, it was a very good psychological thriller which wasn't plainly predictable. About a serial killer who after killing his victims stole their identity and lived their lives until he outgrew their age.

In the cinema last film I saw was 'Passion of the Christ'... unsure what to rate this one, certainly a moving film, visually shocking, and relentless in it's presentation. 8/10 for that - 1/10 for leaving me feeling incredibly depressed/shocked afterwards.

Well, it wasn't actually me who posted about watching it, but.....

I have seen it before, & it is indeed very boring.

From the IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089941/):

A hardened convict and a younger prisoner escape from a brutal prison in the middle of winter only to find themselves on an out-of-control train with a female railway worker while being pursued by the vengeful head of security.

"Alasair MacLean's Death Train" - yep, awful film. The original book was...OK, but hardly great (it wasn't actually written by MacLean - it was written by someone else, after he died I think, based on a story of his). V bad film.

A couple of nights ago i saw a film i've been planning to see for a long time now....... Memento

Have to say it's been a very long time since a film has held my attention till the very end and this one did :)
I found it amusing, stylish and cleverly made...... it drew me in and held my interest...... leaving me with questions to ruminate after it had ended.
Having said that...... it's actually just a fun film too which just happens to work on a couple of different levels.

You can be a couch potato or a film buff watching it..... from either angle i thought it was cool :D

Last film I saw at the cinema: Scooby Doo 2. An OK film, but I have to admit the main reasons I watched it are Linda Cardinelli (plays Velma, and Sam in ER) and Sarah Michelle Geller (plays Daphne, and Buffy in Buffy). 7/10.

"Dungeons & Dragons: The Movie" (DVD - only a fiver, LOL)

Script & acting...not great, but I've seen much worse.

FX & action were OK.

The main hero (played by Justin Whalin - Jimmy Olsen from "Lois & Clark") was...OK.

The female lead (Zoe McLellan) was...quite nice, in a "smart & sexy" way ;) (I have a weakness for brainy brunettes)

The "Empress" character (played by Jane Burnham - the daughter in American Beauty) was a bit of a poor "Queen Amidala wannabe".

The "comedy sidekick" character was annoying & unfunny...which is to be expected from any character played by Marlon Wayans IMO.

The main bad guy, however, was played by a wonderfully OTT Jeremy Irons. Each scene with him was great, just for his cheesy & OTT acting. His main henchman (Bruce Payne) was also good in a cheesy & OTT way.

Hmm.

Not a great movie, but not crap.

6/10.

Left Behind (www.leftbehind-themovie.com) - I suspect not many people here will have heard of it, it's a modern day take on Revelations. It started off as a series of books which were awesome (sold more than 50 million) and it was only going to be a matter of time before they made a film.

Saying that.....the film is truly awful. Terrible acting, VERY low budget effects, poor casting, sub-plots which don't make sense....

I bought the DVD as it was on special offer - this doesn't even come up to the standard of a made-for-tv film, which is a shame as it should have been a LOT better.

Aw man, maybe im mad, but i actually thought that Solaris was one of the best movies i've ever seen.

It's soo subtle and the music is awesome. The scene when he "flashbacks" to meeting his wife for the first time at his friends party is just superb. I cant think of another movie when you could feel the atmosphere and tension so much.

It is a film that you have to watch for what it is, i think a lot of people got confused and thought it was some sci-fi Aliens type thing and didnt get what they expected so marked it down because of it.

Essentially its a love/loss story set in the future.

abailey152
15-05-2004, 23:36
I wasn't expecting an Alien type movie, but something more of a ghost story set in space. However, it fell well short of my expectations. It never seems to do anything. Yes it is atmospheric, but nothing happens. It even ends without any sort of conclusion. No, sorry, but it's on my :td: list.

Solaris was the sort of film that I like, quiet and more about atmosphere and emotion than action. However, I thought it was complete pants, mainly because it just seemed to be one long George Cloney ego-fest and his acting is so wooden that there was no emotion in the film. I'd really like to see the original version.

I think I'd just built it up in my mind and expected something more obviously "Tim Burton" - I think I expected it to be more fantastical, if you see what I mean. You're right though, the end is great and very final scence did bring a tear to my jaded old eye! :D

I had a similar thing with Dark City a few years ago. Saw the trailer, thought it looked brilliant, waited months for it to be released and came away feeling a bit deflated. But the friend I went with who hadn't known a thing about it before that night thought it was great.

I watched a movie last night called Spirited Away, its basically an Japanese animated cartoon (not sure if its classed as Anime), but it is very beautifully done, Disney should take a look put it that way. It also won the Oscar in 2002 for the best animated feature.

It have one of the weirdest storylines i have ever seen, about a family that come across this strange tunnel near their new home, walk through and end up in a bath house for the spirits (yeah - i told you) but i thouroughly enjoyed it.

I'd give it an 8/10 at least.

Check it out here... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245429/, gets 8.5 /10 out of 15,000 votes.

You do need to disengage any rational thought for it though.

Like most Japanese cimema then :)

I watched Battle Royale II the other day which looked quite good. Problem was it hadn't been dubbed or subtitled and I don't know any Japanese so I had to keep looking at a movie guide whilst watching it :D

I watched a movie called "thirteen" last night.
It was highly disturbing and uncomfortable to watch and anybody who has parents who split when they were young or who had a troubled childhood will be able to relate to it straight away.
The acting, particularly from Evan Rachel Wood is breathtaking and she is hugely successful in drawing the viewer deep into the story.

I haven't watched a film that affected me that much since Gia.

9/10. :(

Pirates of the Caribbean
Well tonight I cracked open a bottle of wine and sat down to watch this DVD that I've owned for ages but haven't watched yet.
I really liked this film and it makes the perfect late night movie, it's nice and lighthearted, instead of all the dark films I usually prefer to watch.
Depp and Knightley are superb, their acting is just breathtaking.

The first time you see the pirate flag sent shivers down my spine but I draw much of my experience from playing a game called "The Secret Of Monkey Island" many years ago on the Amiga (I believe that you can still buy this for the PC) and it's pretty similar in the way it was done (the ghosts/zombies etc).

I'd give it 7/10, just because it's an enjoyable movie.

Anyone who likes Keira, either her acting or her erm, "physical attributes" :D, should watch "The Hole" also starring Thora Birch. :)

Or watch the trailer to the forthcoming King Arthur movie. It is supposedly a 'fact-based historical epic' but they seem to have got Guinevere mixed up with Boudica ( ).

Blade 1 (DVD) & Blade 2 (DVD) - both 8/10

Seen the 1st before, but not the 2nd.

Both great fun. Great action, excellent fight scenes, good production. Very enjoyable comic-book adaptations. I'm hoping Guillermo Del Toro's take on HellBoy will be at least as good, and as fun, as his Blade2.

Last night we saw Touching The Void with a load from our mountaineering club. This was the second time I'd watched it and I found it even more gripping than the first. It's a docu-drama based on the book of the same name by Joe Simpson. The film cuts back and forth between the real Joe, Simon and Richard talking to the camera and the actors replaying their story on the mountain. And what a story. The world of mountaineering abounds with epic tales but this is simply one of the best - highly recommended.

Rented SWAT at the weekend and wasn't impressed.
It seemed to take forever to put the background/sub plot together and went down hill from there. It was a bit too predictable. I haven't really got a problem with predictable story lines providing they can still keep you interested, this didn't manage to though.

6/10

Enjoyable, & an interesting idea, but its a fairly "run of the mill" movie. Nothing amazing.

Compared to other films based on PKD stories....Paycheck is not anywhere near as good as Bladerunner, nor even Minority Report or Total Recall.

It was also a bit of a let-down for a John Woo film.

Troy - 6 out of 10. Bit dull. Seems to be aimed at females, ie lots of men getting in and out of armour. Dull dialogue. The number of times we are reminded how their names will live on for 1000 years for fighting in this battle, the movie won't even be remembered next year. Too much of Achilles (Pitt) brooding.

Great film. Good cast (especially Ron Pearlman...he is perfect as Hellboy), good story, great action, great FX, great fun.

Guillermo del Toro has again shown how talented a director & screenwriter he is.

I don't understand why it's out in the UK so bloody late though! Not in the cinema here 'till September or thereabouts.

We watched Bend it like Beckham (www.benditbeckham.co.uk) again on DVD at the w/e. It's the story of two girls, Parminder Nagra and Keira Knightley, and their local girls' football team. It's very funny and Juliet Stevenson has some fantastic lines. It's a wonderful portrayal of multi-cultural London. But really, the film is about prejudices - from all quarters - and some of them are most painful. 'Dad's' speach about him coming over from India and then the gorras wouldn't let him play cricket, gets me in tears every time.

Definately recommended - I would almost say compulsory viewing!

Had a bit of a film-fest this weekend (and still found time to watch the FA Cup Final and the Grand Prix!)

Got three films from the video shop:

SWAT - enjoyable potboiler if completely predictable. Colin Farrell doing his thing and Samuel L being Samuel L - nothing wrong with that! 7 / 10.

Stuck on You - quite funny in places, but not up to the Farrelly Brothers usual standard. The funny bits ARE very funny though. 6 / 10/

Paycheck - though this was really good! I know that Ben Affleck has his knockers (insert gag here ;) ), but I thought he was very convincing, and Uma Thurman was good as well (especially considering that, in one review, it said that she did nothing but hover in the background). Oh, and it's good to see that John Woo can get his dove into every single film he makes! 8/10

We also went to the pictures and saw Troy - absolutely fantastic. Ignoring the fact that most of us already know the story, Wolfgang Peterson has really set it up well and the fight scenes are excellent. At just over two-and-a-halfs hours long, it's a bit of a bum-number, but I'd definitely go and see it again. 10 / 10

Just seen the new HP movie. (Hint for adults. If you want to see the movie without the trouble of having to escort a kid, or be around them, go at 23:10 on a saturday night. There were about 20 people in the cinema of 400 seats, and all were 23 or older)

It was a really poor adaption of the book. It could have done with being about 30 mins longer and staying true to the book a bit. I'm suprised you like Gary Oldman in it Bex, I didn't think he did that good a job. Lupin was excellent, especially for an actor i've never seen/heard of before. Also, I think Gambon was a bit too sprightly for 150 year old magician. He could have acted a bit more like Harris, I would have thought. Hogwarts was completely different, have they moved it? The grounds were completely different. Rating for the movie: On its own merit, i'd say 6/10, based on the book, 3/10.

I saw the trailer foe Garfield. That seemed quite fun. I suspect it is one of those movies that has 5 jokes, and they put them all in the trailer, so when you watch it you don't laugh. Might be worth a go though.

thank you.... i have been arguing the point that the grounds were different since we were actually in the film and my bro says it wasnt...shows how much attention he paid.... i dont remember hagrid's being that far away from the school, nor being down the bottom of a hill, nor having mountains behind him, and the forest just didn't look scary anymore.
i agree with you on the new dumbledore, it was almost like having a whole new headmaster.... he doesnt have the same presence as the old one.
and i also agree with you on being a poor adaptation, another thing i argued to death with my brother over.

I've heard negative opinions of it, but....Is it really that bad?!
It does have a couple of interesting ideas.

I nearly bought it, as I love the first one. Glad I didn't, now.
Rent it ;)

It didn't even have the same cast, did it? Different director too I think, rather than Verhoeven.
Different cast (set 5yrs after the end of the first film) and a different director too (the director is the special effects bloke that did the first film tho - so the bugs look the same)

If only they had made a sequel properly.
Definately - I think the only sequel I really liked more than the first one was aliens.

If only they'd made the damn first one properly!!

"Let's send a bunch of troops down to a hostile planet with no air support or armour or heavy weapons backup..."

"Oh look, someone's just done a flash manoeuvre with a space ship that could have damaged the ship and the station, phew, we're so glad she got away with it that we're not going to rip her a new a$$hole..."

"Hey, we're highly trained soldiers walking down a narrow valley with no scouts out, nobody on the high ground and, oh, look, falling rocks, let's not worry about them..."

"Dude, where's my car?" was as stupid as they come, but bloody brilliant, I thought. It is one of those movies that you would love for its abstract originality, or hate for being so dumb.

I was going to say a bit about the sequel, but anyone know what the deal with that is? Details are very sketchy. All say it is coming out in 2004, one even said US date is in July. But not many sites mention it, and IMDB isn't even carrying it (even though it carries movies in production for the next 3 years). Hmmm/. If anyone is interested, it is called: "Seriously Dude, Where's My Car?"

9/10

Fact-based drama (which I think was on BBC2 a few months ago), about the 1942 Wannsee Conference - the meeting at which SD head Heydrich (Kenneth Branagh), his assistant Adolf Eichmann (Stanley Tucci), & a dozen or so other Nazis decided on the course of action which become known as the Holocaust

Gripping. Powerful. Chilling. Depressing.

Have to disagree with you completely.

I had a very good idea who the killer was about 2/3 way through the film, but it still didn't impact on how good the film was. And I don't think Sean Penn over-acted. Also, Tim Robbins was brilliant.

I can't believe all the hype they advertise with this movie, 'Clint's best film so far' etc, it is simply a boring film with a very slow storyline. The same can be said for 21 grams in which Sean Penn won the oscar. It was another slow paced movie.

In my opinion, Johnny Depp should've won the oscar.

Unforgiven is good but Clint has directed so many good films. However, the choice of best Clint film is easy. It has to be The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, the best western ever made.

Just seen Love Actually.

Wern't bad at all. Amazing cast. The ending was a bit silly, which let it down a bit. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Essientially it followed the love exploits of about 12 people who are vaguely connected. It covered the whole spectrum of love, from newly married love, forbidden love, unrequited love, newly found love, etc.

I'm not really a love movie fan, (I don't watch them normally unless it has American Pie in the title), so the fact I even watched it says something, let alone actually liked it. If you aren't a chick-flick, you can still enjoy it because it has some really fine ladies in it. One even gets her baps out which is nice. It is actually a bit weird. There are too many depressing moments to be an uplifting film, yet there are a few to warm the heart. It is sort of depressing if you are single, but it isn't too bad. Incidentally i'm moving to Milwaukee (If you have already seen the film you'll know why :naughty:)

So yeah definitely worth watching if you can. :tu:

before i watched it i was aware it came out in the states a while ago and hadnt hit uk cinemas yet thats always a bad sign. i also read the "plot" a demon summoned by nazi's at the end of ww2 - silly indeed. anyway it didnt seem to take its self to serious the main dude (RED) was funny and a good hero overall plot was exciting certainly but didnt really make alot of sence but it didnt need to wasnt watching it to be educated or amazed at the acting - it was a bad film but had a certain thing about it that deserved to be watched - but i think a lot of older people or anyone that like to engage their brain while watching a film will think it is silly 7.5/10

Spider man 2 - much like the first one it needs a proper baddy and for him to sort himself out - special fx were super but overall i felt a bit cheated it was kinda naff but visually stunning

But Doctor Octopus is probably the archetypal Spider-man villain - a good man turned bad by the accident in the lab and, let's be honest, how cool was it when he's climbing buildings and stuff?

Also, Peter Parker being a neurotic mess is part of the appeal of Spider-man - he had this thrust on him and, as a result, his life started to fall apart as he tried to keep his secret and help people. I thought that the way they handled his 'unmasking' in the film was fantastic.

I thought spideys equal was another person who had gone through the same mutation as he has, can't remember the name, I want to say Venom but I dont know if thats right.
Now if the person I am thinking of doesnt appear in any of the future movies then you are right, Dr Oc is the closest to his equal.
Oh and he was very cool climbing those buildings, reminded me of a Squidy (Sentinal) from Matrix.

Depending on which comics / stories you've read, Venom is an alien symbiote that infects JJ Jamesons (sp?) son, John (the astronaut who MJ was engaged to). As as result, he has much the same powers as Spidey but has a really funky black costume (which is actually the symbiote). He's supposed to be a bit stronger than Spidey, but it would be a great match up.

Romour control has it that Venom will be the villain in one of the later films (and would give a more plausible reason for John being in Spidey 2, other than just to get dumped :D ). The other rumour is that the Lizard will appear, fuelled by the appearance of Dr Connors in the film.

Hmm.. I thought in the comics JJ Jamesons son was Man-Wolf - he bought back some rock from the moon with him that did it - and Venom was Eddie Brock (who got mentioned in the first film as well) - after the symbiote that Spiderman bought back after being on the 'Beyonders world' (I can't remember what the comic series was called), left him and bonded with Eddie.

Personally I reckon for the third film, it will be Lizard, and Hobgoblin (which is essentially Green Goblin with a different colour outfit).

Saw it on Sunday, thought it as quite a good film, quite entertaining... I just hate the way they have to kill off the villians...

I've heard that too. Good villain...although I've seen opinions where people say that having an alien symbiote could seem a little unbelievable in Spidey's movie "universe", compared to the "scientist becomes villain after experiment gone wrong" types we've had so far.

I do think it could work, though. And Sam Raimi certainly knows how to handle Spider-Man & his world.

But if number 3 has Venom, then I guess it'll have two villains in it...going by the end of Spider-Man 2.

Also...speaking of Venom...wasn't there another alien symbiote villain? Carnage?

I liked Daredevil. No where near as much as Spidey 1 & 2, or X-Men 2, but I did find it enjoyable. I think the best thing about it (after Elektra ;) ) was Michael Clark Duncan's "King Pin". Great actor, & and a good version of the character. I think he'd have done well in a Spider-Man movie (they share the same Marvel universe afterall).

Just saw Identity, brilliant movie. If you havent seen it yet, rent it.

I give it a 9 out of 10. :D

Very good! Lots of twists, & a very good cast.

Did you watch that with your mum??? :)
What does that mean?! I watched it cos i've just finished reading his book dude Where's my country and I'm in the middle of reading Stupid White Men, which i've been told to read for one of my A level courses, and which i wish i'd read before. Absolutely fantastic. So i suggest you watch it before you take the mick (providing you haven't already, in which case my whole argument falls flat!):tu:

Girl Next Door, The (2004)
genre..............: Comedy / Romance
runtime............: 100 min
iMDB rating.: 6.9/10 (2,346 votes)
iMDB link...: http://imdb.com/title/tt0265208/

A straight-arrow high-school senior falls in love with the perfect 'girl-next-door', only to discover she is a former porn star. He comes to realize that if he wants this very special woman, he better be willing to risk it all and experience a journey for which he never could have prepared.

It has the pretty Elisa Cuthbert (from 24)
However as a film this thing sucks bigtime. It trys to emulate "Risky Business". The Hollywood notion of remaking & revisiting well known films once again fails :)

The humour isn't intelligent but there are various naked ladies about - teen naff sex comedy 3/10 - but dont forget Elisa Cuthbert!!

Staring the slick super spy Sydney from Sky 1's Alias - she was also in daredevil as Elektra (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0357277/) - also a film of that name in the making now while alias is on a break to return 2005.

Plot Outline: A 13 year old girl plays a game on her 13th birthday and wakes up the next day as a 30 year old womanits big but for ladies - u cant touch big! and they fail its a girly girly film that makes little sence but has a happy ending all the same its "random" i wasnt paying much attention but i have no idea how she actually got to be 30 or back to 13 or what went on at the end in the wedding - girls will like it but only young girls -

not my cup of tea - some funny moments and good dancing but thats about it - not a bad film just nothing special, one for the kids.

5/10 just for Jennifer Garner being a good actress and dancing to thriller ..
for those really interested the SE is out in a few days :)

Just watched King Arthur, not a bad movie all in all. I was expecting a complete mess of a movie, just like First Knight, but was happly surprised. :)

Although there where some glaring inaccuracies (namely Arthur's father Uther Pendragon leading the 'Britons' at the Battle of Badden), still a good movie.

I give it an 8/10.

i have just finished watching "Cube". give it about a 6 out of 10, it is alright, bit low budget at times, but at the same time has some cool special effects...

one of those evil films that doesnt have a proper ending and makes you ponder things though :(

Have you seen cube 2 : Hypercube?

...which I'll rate as an average 5/10 (not as good as the first one - but worth the £5 it cost me :))

I, Robot

Much better than I had expected.

OK, so it's packed with blatant product placement (Converse, Audi, JVC, ..... ), but not as much as in other films I've seen.

OK, so Asimov is probably spinning in his grave....really, really spinning....

But....It's still damn good fun! Good action, good special effects, good story, etc.

Cheesy, but very enjoyable. Just sit back & enjoy the show.

DOGVILLE with Nicole Kidman

we watched about 5mins of this - AVOID THIS STINKING TURD OF A MOVIE AT ALL COSTS - do not rent this pile of ****e.

I wouldnt be able to describe how **** poor it is.

this is a good review:-

http://www.wafflemovies.com/dogville.html

"Dogville is a dog alright. Writer/director Lars von Trier decided to turn Dogville into an experimental film that went as badly as one of my high school chemistry labs. Instead of making a REAL movie, with sets, props, different locations and more, von Trier has staged the entire film on a naked theater stage with chalk outlines for the buildings, and a tape recorder voicing the barking dog. I hope he saved enough chalk to outline the carcass of his dead career, or maybe my body after I croak from outrage..."

runtime............: 96 min
iMDB rating.: 5.9/10 (1,812 votes)
iMDB link...: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0351977/

Plot Outline: When a former member of the U.S. Army Special Forces returns to his small hometown in rural Washington State to revive his family's lumber mill business, he discovers that much has changed, as the normally tranquil town is now besieged by drugs, outbreaks of violence and a general feeling of malaise and terror
Cast:
The rock
Neal Mcdonough
Johnny "Jackass" Knoxville
Ashley Scott

Well - WWE's "The Rock" stars in his 3rd leading role in a film and once again im not disapointed - its not a great film its simple and a bit of mindless action - the fighting wasnt that great but i doubt that had anything to do with the rock him self more the director etc. Knoxville did fine as a co star (a lot better than he did in mib2) and was the comedy relief. Films bassed on a true story with a few hollywood tweaks, the love interest isnt explained well but she is fine so i wouldnt ask many questions either. it didnt go on for too long and had a happy ending so harmless really. but deserves a 6-7 outta 10.

If you do need to see a film with the rock in it pick welcome to the jungle (aka the rundown) it may be naff but its one of the most enjoyable films i have seen all year - especially the monkey scene :)

Girl Next Door

Cracking film, and Elisha Cuthbert is so so so fine in it. 9/10.

Along Came Polly

Not as funny as I thought it would be, still, watchable. 7/10

Starsky & Hutch

Really good, better than I expected. 8/10

Along came polly was very average.

Girl next door was like they used to make films - a modern classic - brilliant camera work/direction and reminded me of those 80s classics such as risky business.
