Depends what version of PS2 you have? You might need a PS2 Ethernet adaptor
I've got the standard PS2.

in which case you will need one of these

this gives you the ethernet port that you plug the wireless game adaptor into
Don't you need to pay an NTL subscription

Don't you need to pay an NTL subscription
no, as a router is being used, only one ip address is required
I thought to play PS2 games online you need to pay NTL like you do with the XBox live service

No
Right let me get this straight all i need to do to play Medal of honour:Rising Sun on the PS2 online is to buy the NW adaptor connect it to my router setup IPs and I'm away. No other costs involved.
I asked this before and was told I needed to pay NTL £2 a month to connect my PS2 to the net

correct, but you dont need to set up any ip's, im not really sure what you meant there?
the £2 per month was assuming that you didnt have a router and therefore you would need 2 IP addresses if you wanted to run a PS2 and a PC together. If you connect the PC and the PS2 to NTL from behind the router you only need one IP address from your service provider. The Router deals with the Network Address Translation on your side of the router
Thank I'll get the NW adaptor for the PS2 tomorrow, Is there anything I need to be aware of connecting my PS2 to the net

not really, its a painful process registering with SONY using the contoller!! and then you end up registering with the company that produced the game. Once youve done all that its great fun.

Does the PS2 need to be near the Router, becasue my PS2 is upstairs in my room, next to the pc with the wireless internet. and the router is downstairs...
Something like this might work (I hope somebody will tell) I'm looking at this myself (PS2 & Router are in separate rooms

the wireless game adaptor you posted in post 3 is the same as i have. My router is upstairs and my PS2 with the game adaptor attached is downstairs in the room below the room with the router in.

Does the PS2 need to be near the Router, becasue my PS2 is upstairs in my room, next to the pc with the wireless internet. and the router is downstairs...The PS2 has to connect to the Router, either physically with a long CAT5 cable, or with a wireless bridge, possibly if you were feeling really clever you could use ICS on the laptop to create a wireless bridge but... don't ask me for any guidance.
So all i do is plug the CAT 5 lead into the PS2 Network Adapter and then the other end into my Router, and my ps2 is online?
Forgive me for being stupid but it sounds all to simple.

You will need to set it to the right wireless channel. If you have secured your wireless network you will need to let it in. Supply it with the sharedsecret, add teh MAC address to the list of approved MAC addresses, but yes, thats it.

Hi...
Ive just ordered an online adaptor and a couple of games from telewest for 45 quid(before slating me offf for paying too much, everywhere else i tried was sold out and i really need to get online with pro evo 5 asap!!) basically my set up at home is i have a wireless router connected to my cable modem. Until i get my wireless dgaming router, im assuming that the ethernet cable from my ps2 (old style ps2) will go into the router? is this correct?
also can anyone tell me ifd there are any performance issues using a wireless gaming router? i assume i will need one that configures to my router thats currently attached to the modem.
does broadband connection speed affect gaming? i think i have 2meg connection, going to 4 soon. will this be sufficient?
